There are several local options to get a rebate on the purchase of your e-bike here in the Gunnison Valley. You will likely need a copy of your proof of purchase. If you purchased the bike from Rock’N’Roll Sports contact us and we will be happy to email you a digital copy of your receipt.

City of Gunnison:

The City of Gunnison provides a $50 rebate on e-bikes. Information and an online form can be found on the Utility Billing page of the City’s website under “Efficiency Rebates and Sustainability Programs.” From that dropdown menu select the option “Residential Appliance Rebate Program” which will open a form that you can complete online.

State of Colorado

The State offers a Tax Credit on the purchase of any qualified ebike. This tax credit is given to the purchaser at the time of purchase as a “discount” of $450 off the purchase price. To get the Tax Credit you will need to purchase the bike from a shop that is participating in the program. And, you will need to show evidence of having a residence in Colorado. The shop will need to see an unexpired Colorado Driver’s license or other acceptable form of proof listed on Colorado form DD514: Qualified Purchaser of an Electric Bicycle Affidavit.

The state previously offered an income-based rebate for qualified e-bikes but that program is no longer active

Town of Crested Butte

The Town of Crested Butte does not currently offer any e-bike rebates.

Town of Mt. Crested Butte

The Town of Mt. Crested Butte offers two separate e-bike rebate programs, a restricted rebate ($1,000-$1,500) based on AMI and a non-restricted rebate ($500-$600). You can only apply for one of these rebates. Check the town’s website for status of the rebates and additional information.

Unincorporated Gunnison County

If you live in an unincorporated area of Gunnison County or if you are a Gunnison County Electric Association (GCEA) customer you can apply for a $150 e-bike rebate through them. The GCEA rebate can be combined with other rebates.
